How It Works
Simple, Seamless, Customizable, and Cost Effective
Physician Places Order
A Physician completes a customized order form requesting diagnostic tests, procedures, and/or consultations. Each request includes a facility selection made by the ordering physician. The request is then sent electronically or via fax to Care Coordinators. Once received, Care Coordinators will open an order in Allscripts (order tracking/reporting system) and begin the authorization process.
Patient Contact
Once a request is received a Care Coordinator will contact the patient to notify them their order has been received as well as obtain any demographic information that may be needed.
Pre-Authorization
Care Coordinators will then obtain pre-authorization and benefits information for the specified request. All authorizations are recorded in Allscripts and provided to the patient and corresponding facility.
Scheduling
A “scrubbed” and standardized order is provided to the facility or scheduling group requested. Care Coordinators will next contact the facility to verify request was received and then notify the patient of request approval and appointment information. Care Coordinators also notify the Physician’s office of their patients completed scheduling on a daily basis.
The Follow-up
Care Coordinators will follow up with patients to confirm test/consultation was completed, assist with rescheduling for a missed or cancelled appointment and to gather patient satisfaction info.
Ordering Physician receives daily/weekly reports on active and completed referrals.
